It's time once again for Buffalo Quickies. The annual celebration of short plays presented by the Alleyway Theatre is not your typical night at the theatre, but it is one that should not be missed.
You'll will get your moneys worth at the Buffalo Quickies because, packed into one night, are eight plays. Joyce Stilson director of the annual theatre event agrees that it could be considered "theatre for people with short attention span" and "directors too."
Joyce Stilson says that there is something for everyone in Buffalo Quickies. Actors get to play multiple roles, audiences can see eight different short plays and the playwrights get to see their words come alive.
"Absolutely Unbelievable" is a short play about radio talk show hosts interviewing a man from the future. The play was written by Buffalo native Bella Poynton. The young playwright is no rookie, her plays have been performed in large cities all over the country. She says "I've been writing plays since I was thirteen, I love it. My M.F.A. is in play writing, I just can't get enough of it. I find it so fun and satisfying".
Buffalo Quickies opens February 23rd and runs through March 11th. You can find information at the Alleyway Theatre website.
