AKRON, NY (WKBW-TV) — Kristine Sutton is happy to be back in her big beautiful library. She says "What we love about it is the tall ceilings and the windows, it's a welcoming place."

Kristine has been in charge at Akron's Newstead Public Library since it opened eighteen years ago. When everything shut down a few months ago she wasn't sure what would happen next saying "my first thought was maybe we'll be closed a week or so, then it tuned into week after week."

She adapted quickly and soon Kristine was reading stories on line and providing other fun activities for kids on YouTube and Facebook. She says "It was an opportunity for us to develop new ways of reaching people".

The library has been back open a few weeks now with some modifications and new regulations. At least for now masks are required. Kristine says that her library friends are happy to be back and even though they are wearings masks "those masks cannot hide those smiles."
