BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Jump on the wheel and start making your own cups, bowls and clay sculptures. Terra Clay Studio opened in September having classes for people to learn to create with clay.

Nine years ago Amanda Schober and Jody Selim were professor and student at Buffalo sate in a ceramics class. Schober wanted to open up a cafe serving healthy whole food, while that didn't work out-- she connected with Jody and they both decided to open up this studio instead.

Now-- they are business partners. They opened Terra Clay Studio on Delaware Avenue in Kenmore in September. From date nights, to kids classes and anyone can sign up to try to make their own creation, it's easier than you think.

Schober says they've been busy since they opened with people eager to make their own goods.

"With mindfulness becoming such a big practice i think people are looking to get off the screens," Schober said.

The business partners hope they will create a pottery community.

"People get in here and experience the studio community it is kinda addicting," Schober said.
