7 things to do this weekend in Western New York: Labor Day 2019

Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer (a note for optimists-- summer doesn't really end until September 23).

2019 National Buffalo Wing Festival
Head over to Sahlen Field on Saturday and Sunday for Wing Fest! The Wing King, Drew Cerza, boasts more than one hundred different kinds of wing's at this year's festival. Tickets are $5 for adults, but admission is free for kids under 8. Food tickets are $1 each. The festival runs 12 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 - 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Old Fort Niagara War of 1812 Encampment
This reenactment event starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday and continues through 4 p.m. on Sunday. Battle reenactments, demonstrations and games are scheduled throughout the weekend. For a full schedule click here.

Food in the Field Food Truck Festival
Sunflowers of Sanborn is welcoming some of the area's best-known food trucks to its fields. The trucks will be serving food from noon until 5 p.m. on Saturday.The folks at Sunflower of Sanborn recommend you bring a chair.

German Fest 2019
Celebrate German culture in WNY at the German Fest in Cheektowaga. It's happening from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Cheektowaga Town Park. Admission is $5 and children under 12 get in free.

Clarence Center Labor Day Fair
The fair starts Friday at 5 p.m. and continues through Labor Day at 5 p.m., at the Clarence Center Volunteer Fire Company on Clarence Center Road. Fireworks are scheduled for Friday night.

Buffalo AFL-CIO Labor Day Parade
The parade starts at Noon on Monday at the Buffalo Irish Center on Abbott Road. There will be a picnic following the parade at Cazenovia Park.

Youngstown Labor Day Parade
This parade lines up Monday morning at Fort Niagara State Park. The parade steps off at Noon.
