The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) says to help taxpayers who are behind on their tax payments it is looking to hire at its Cheektowaga call center.
The IRS says there are 85 openings at the Cheektowaga site, those who are interested can view the current openings here.
The contact representative positions start at $17.34 per hour and will be listed for a brief period of time according to the IRS.
"The IRS is proud to be a part of the community in the Cheektowaga area, and we strongly encourage people to consider applying for these jobs," said Eric Hylton, the IRS Small Business/Self Employed Commissioner. "These new phone assistors will work with people who have past-due tax bills."
The IRS says the new employees that are hired will be different than general tax assistance phone representatives that service taxpayers with account related or general tax questions.
