Buffalo breaks a 76-year-old record

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The record to beat for May 26th is 88F set in 1944.

2020 set the new record at 91F.

The new record temperature was recorded at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

2019 only had one 90 degree day on July 10th and the last time it was this hot was back on July 1st, 2018.

The region may close in on another record on Wednesday, with high temperatures expected in the mid-80s. The record high for Wednesday is 89F, set in 1978.
