Wild, windy Wednesday for WNY

High Wind WATCH in effect for WNY on Wednesday from 7am through 10pm. Expect high winds as a strong storm system passes by the area, bringing rain and gusty winds to the region. Early models suggesting winds gusting 50 to 60 miles per hour. Winds this strong could cause some minor power outages and result in some tree damage. Trees that are already damaged or unhealthy could come down on Wednesday.

Lakeshore Flood WATCH on Wednesday for the Lake Erie shoreline. Elevated lake levels combined with strong winds will result in large waves and some beach erosion.

7am Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and breezy with winds out of the south 10 to 20 miles per hour. Temperatures near 45.
Noon Wednesday: Rain with strong winds out of the southwest 20 to 40 miles per hour. Temperatures near 50.
5pm Wednesday: Strong winds and rain showers. Winds westerly gusting 50 to 60 miles per hour. Temperatures near 40.
