After several cool days WNY will heat up on Saturday, but the heat will likely come with some gusty T-Storms for portions of WNY.

Showers and a few rumbles of thunder will move through the area by Saturday morning. Some clearing skies during the afternoon will allow for some dry time before another round of T-Storms to fire up with the potential to produce gusty winds, heavy downpours and small hail.

The line of showers and t-storms will ride the jet stream aloft. The river of air will allow for these storms to breathe and have a long duration. As of now, it looks as if this line fires up in southern Michigan and moves in a southeasterly direction towards the S.Tier.

While the exact track of the severe weather is still being determined... Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, McKean and Potter counties will have the best opportunity to see gusty t-storms Saturday.

Another round of showers and t-storms will affect Western New York late Saturday into Sunday morning. This line will develop ahead of a cold front that will bring calmer conditions to the area as we finish out the weekend.

Besides the threat for severe weather, nature cranks up the humidity on Saturday too. Temperatures at the west end of Lake Erie near Toledo will top out in the 90s while Western New York will see upper 70s to near 80 degrees.

Stick with the 7 First Alert Weather Team as we head into the weekend, as we will continue to keep you one step ahead of the stormy weather.
