BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — You have one more day of warmth before Old Man Winter returns from vacation and sticks around for a while. A significant flip in the weather pattern is coming our way.

But before we get to the cold, your Tuesday and Wednesday is looking comfortable for a winter day. We'll see a few raindrops with temperatures in the mid 40s Tuesday.

The first good shot of cold will push into Western New York Thursday, bringing with it wind, snow, and tricky travel spots. Temperatures will start mild before a cold front swoops in during the breakfast hour-- dropping temperatures from around 40F to the upper 30s, and then to the 20s by the lunch hour.

Your Friday is looking cold and with some lake flakes south of Buffalo to start the day.

And when you think things will warm up Saturday, think again. A low pressure system will bring a mix of rain, sleet, and snow to the area, but there will be another steep drop in temperatures late Saturday into Sunday.

The bitter cold will stick around through early next week. How cold will it get? We're talking about single-digit numbers as you head out to the bus stop.
