A Lake Effect Snow WARNING is in effect for extreme Southern Erie (well below the Buffalo Stowns), Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus County from Saturday at 4 p.m. through Monday at 10 a.m. A Lake Snow ADVISORY is in effect until 10 am for Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany, McKean & Potter Cos. Blowing Snow will present a hazard where snow has accumulated, especially well inland. Near whiteouts will be possible, with only patchy coatings near the lakeshores and in Buffalo. Still, slick spots will develop as temps drop into the 20s even near the lakes.

Areas that are likely to receive the most snowfall will be on the hill tops of Chautauqua County. By Monday morning, some areas, from Sinclairville to Clymer could see up to a foot of snowfall.

Visibility will become poor in the most persistent bands. For a timeline of events for everybody, click on this link.

Stick with us as the 7 First Alert Team will continue to keep you one step ahead of the storm.

As for Thanksgiving there will be no travel hazards in the Great Lakes or NE on Wednesday. Some liquid/rain showers will arrive much later Wednesday night into Thanksgiving, so it may be a damp-to-wet Turkey Trot.
