High Wind Watch in place for much of Western New York starting late Saturday Night

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Get ready for a windy and wet weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for Niagara, Erie, Orleans, Genesee, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Wyoming County starting late Saturday night.

Winds will begin to pick up in intensity during the overnight hours Saturday going into Sunday. Some areas could see would gusts as high as 60 mph Sunday morning.

Wind gusts will be strong enough to create isolated power outages and uproot trees.

Much of Western New York is also under a Flood Watch. The flood watch goes into place Saturday afternoon.
