Get ready for the Sturgeon Moon, Western New York!

If you didn't catch it last night. No worries, you'll have front row seats to the Sturgeon Moon Thursday night into Friday morning.

Most of Western New York will have mostly clear skies, with a few clouds out there. Not ruling out some foggy spots Friday morning, especially in the Southern Tier. If you happen to be out and about Thursday evening, moon will rise at 8:24pm and will set at 7:45am.

The Sturgeon Moon got its name from Native Americans living in the Great Lakes region. This is the time of year when sturgeon was readily available to catch. The full moon this month is also dubbed the Corn Moon and Grain Moon.

The moon turned full at approximately 5:27 Thursday morning.
