Some have said, having a blue moon on Halloween is "so 2020".

A rare blue hunter's moon will be here just in time for Halloween! It's called a blue moon, but the moon will not be blue, nor will have a blue hue. It gets its name from being the second full moon in one month. It happens every 2.5 years, hence, "once in a blue moon". It's also called a hunter's moon, because the second moon of the season's purpose was to help the hunters hunt at night.

The first full moon of the month fell on October 1st and was called the Harvest Moon. It was named so because of its close proximity to the autumnal equinox.

What is even more rare, is that this Halloween's full moon will be visible across all times zones. The last time this happened was in 1944.

The moon will rise at 6:29 pm in WNY.

And to make it even more 2020 ... not only are we having a full moon on Halloween, but this is also the last day of Daylight Saving Time, so remember to set your clocks back November 1st at 2 am.
