Three senior scholar athletes at Williamsville East High School will carry the torch of excellence with them as they begin their collegiate careers next fall.

Charles Mack, Hannah Nurse and Heather Greenway signed letters of intent Wednesday to play at Division 1 or Division 2 schools for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Mack will hit the baseball diamond at Clemson University. A six-year varsity standout, Mack is considered the best baseball player to ever wear a Flames uniform. He led East to the state championship his sophomore year.

Nurse will bring her academic and athletic excellence to Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. The All-WNY goalie has started in net for the past four seasons. She led her team to its first division title since 1985 and first ever sectional championship.

Greenway is headed to Mercyhurst University in Erie to play lacrosse next fall. She started for her entire high school year, leading the team as captain for the past two years.
