The “One for the Thumb” quest begins Monday when the Bandits battle the Black Wolves in game one of the East Division Finals.
Buffalo won nine of its last 10 games to end the year, including a win over New England in the season finale back in April.
Their only loss over that span was to Toronto, which Bandits forward Dhane Smith says was actually good for the squad.
While they'll have had 15 days off between games, Smith doesn't expect any let downs on Monday.
"I think we peaked at the right time,” Smith said. “I know that Toronto game we lost in Toronto was one of those games we needed to get out of the way," Smith said.
"We have a lot of work to do to get what we want and we know that,” Head Coach Troy Cordingley added. “It's going to be a grind, it's not going to be easy. If it was going to be easy it wouldn't be worth winning."
Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
