Chad Johnson’s time with the Buffalo Sabres is likely coming to an end.
A source tells 7 Eyewitness Sports Anchor Shawn Stepner that the landing spots for the backup goaltender are down to the St. Louis Blues, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks.
The NHL trade deadline is on Monday at 3:00 p.m.
Johnson, 29, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
He has a 2.50 goals-against average in 32 games played this season. He is 13-14-3.
Johnson is the backup to Robin Lehner in Buffalo but was pushed into a starter’s role after Lehner suffered a high ankle sprain in the season opener.
Sabres head coach Dan Bylsma said on Friday afternoon that Johnson will start for his team when Buffalo plays the Sharks in San Jose that evening.
