The Buffalo Sabres traded forward Jamie McGinn to the Anaheim Ducks, just before Monday's 3 p.m. deadline on Monday.

McGinn had scored 14 goals this year and added 13 assists for the Sabres who have been at the bottom of the NHL standings most of the season.

In return, the Ducks return a conditional third round pick, that could turn into a second round selection if they advance to the Western Conference Finals.

Anaheim is currently second in the Pacific Division standings.

McGinn was acquired by the Sabres in a trade that broughtt the winger and center Ryan O'Reilly to the Queen City in exchange for Nikita Zadorov, Mikhail Grigorenko, JT Compher and a first round pick, last June.
