West Seneca native Sean Malone was drafted by the hometown Buffalo Sabres in 2013.

Now, he'll make his NHL debut with the big club Saturday night when the Blue and Gold face off against the Florida Panthers in the second to last game of the regular season.

The centerman signed a two-year entry level contract with the Sabres.

Malone helped power Harvard to the Frozen Four behind 42 points for the Crimson, which ranked third on the team.

Harvard was knocked out of the national semifinals by fellow Western New York native (Eden, NY) Alex Iafallo, who tallied the game winning goal to lift University of Minnesota-Duluth past the Crimson 2-1.

"Certainly a whirlwind for him, just coming in and traveling and joining our team this morning," Head Coach Dan Bylsma said.  "He's coming down from the high of being in that game and with his team, turning around and flying across country to play in his first NHL game."

Malone will suit up along side Zemgus Girgensons and Nic Deslauriers.
