Sabres players prepare for World Cup of Hockey

The Sabres don't open training camp for a few more weeks, but several players will be suiting up at the World Cup of Hockey when practices begin this week.

Forward Jack Eichel is a member of Team North America, while defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen (Finald) and Dmitry Kulikov (Russia) will be participating as well.

"I'm excited for it," Eichel said.  "It's going to be a great event for our entire league. Hopefully it helps grow the game and people become hockey fans."

Tournament action begins on Sept. 17 and wraps up with the championship on Oct. 1.

Below is the schedule for preliminary round games at the World Cup of Hockey for Sabres players, with times and TV details.

Sept. 18: Team Sweden vs. Team Russia, 3 p.m., (ESPN)
Team North America vs. Team Finland, 8 p.m. (ESPN2)
