While Terry and Kim Pegula are focused on the NFL Draft and improving the Buffalo Bills, they're also in the hunt for a new general manager for their other franchise, the Sabres, in the hopes of ushering in a new era on the ice.

7 Eyewitness Sports Reporter Nick Filipowski has has learned New Jersey Assistant General Manager Tom Fitzgerald has interview for the opening in Buffalo.

A year ago the Blue & Gold selected Tom's son Casey 86th overall in the NHL draft.  The defenseman just wrapped up his sophomore season at Boston College.

TSN Insider Pierre LeBrun reported Friday Buffalo had already interviewed LA Kings Assistant General Manager Mike Futa and Penguins associate and assistant GM's Bill Guerin and Jason Botterill.

Earlier on Friday, Filipowski confirmed the Sabres received permission to interview Futa, who was also a candidate during their last front office search in 2013.
