Ryan O'Reilly scored the game-tying goal in the World Championship against Sweden, but it wasn't enough as Henrik Lundqvist fended off all four shots he faced in a shootout as the Swedes knocked off the defending two-time defending champs 2-1 in the Gold Medal Game.
Trailing 1-0 heading into the the final period, O'Reilly buried a rebound off a shot from Mitch Marner to tied the game with 18 minutes remaining.

Still tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime, the two squads headed to a shootout, which drew the ire of twitter.

Lundqvist, who joined Sweden after his run at a Stanley Cup came to an end, was masterful in the tournament posting a 4-0 record en route to winning Gold.

O'Reilly finished the tournament with six goals and three assists in 10 games with Canada. His teammate Nate MacKinnon tallied 15.
Williams Nylander finished third in tournament scoring, posting 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists) to earn Tournament MVP honors for Sweden.
Victor Hedman scored the first goal of the game for the Swedes, with 20 seconds to play in the second period to give them a 1-0 lead.
