NHL's top prospects on hand for Centennial Celebration

Posted

As the NHL celebrates 100 years of hockey (coaches challenge not included) the future of the league was front and center in downtown Buffalo as the Scouting Combine continued in the Queen City on Friday.

For the first time in a while, the Sabres are not in the hunt for one of the top two picks.
That honor belongs to New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Either team could land top prospects Nolan Patrick or Nico Hischier, who are ranked one and two respectively in the scouting rankings.

Both were on hand signing autographs and answering questions during the Centennial Celebration at the plaza at KeyBank Center.

The toughest question? Who should be selected number one.

"It's hard to answer that because I mean, obviously, Patrick is a very good player as well and it's always what the team search. I just know at the end I'm going to be happy it doesn't matter how it comes. I'm just going to be happy."

The combine wraps up on Saturday with fitness testing.

The NHL Draft is June 23rd and 24th in Chicago.
