It was just a coincidence, but it made for an unforgettable moment for one little boy and his mom on Thursday.
Buffalo Sabres rookie Jack Eichel is the new celebrity spokesman and brand ambassador for Tim Hortons. He’ll be in that position for the next two years and be featured in commercials, on billboards, and occasionally making appearances at Tim Hortons’ locations and charity events.
With the announcement Thursday, the No. 2 overall draft pick visited the Tim Hortons location at HARBORCENTER where he met his biggest little fan.
Alyssa Osinski brought her son Case Taher, who just turned 2, to the Sabres store, but found out it was closed. So they stopped at the HARBORCENTER Tim Hortons for a donut and that's when they ran into Eichel. It was little Case who recognized the Sabres star.
"I was wondering why everyone was staring at and then Case pointed him out. He pointed out Jack," Alyssa said.
Case is Eichel's biggest fan. He dresses as the rookie and carries around a mini Sabres hockey stick. He loves yelling "shoot the puck" at the TV when Eichel is on. "Everything is Jack Eichel. It's his best friend; it's his name some days. This morning it was his name," said Case's mom.
Eichel stopped to chat a little with Case, sign his hockey stick and give Case a donut.
