The Buffalo Sabres are on a two-game winning streak, but if they want to bring it to three, they'll have to do so without one of their top young forwards.

The Sabres announced that Evander Kane, the 24-year old forward with 16 goals on the season, missed practice on Monday morning because he overslept. Due to breaking the team rule, head coach Dan Bylsma said that Kane will not travel with the team and play in their next game, Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators.

Bylsma went on to say that the situation would be handled internally.

The reason for Kane's absence was best explained by social media, posting a picture with his sister at the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto on Sunday night. Earlier on Sunday, Kane contributed to a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche at First Niagara Center.

The Sabres head coach said Kane called both he and general manager Tim Murray this morning.
