Lancaster's Chelsea D'Antonio tied for 12th at Porter Cup

Among Western New Yorkers, Lancaster's Chelsea D'Antonio leads area golfers after the first round of the Women's Porter Cup.

D'Antonio fired an opening round 74 and is currently tied for 12th after the first round, trailing leader Madison Luitwieler (Katy, Texas) by four strokes.

Luitwieler, who plays collegiately at the University of Texas, leads the field after carding an opening round 70 (-2) was 3-under par on the back nine with four birdies before a bogey on 18.

Naomi Ko who tied for 7th at last year's event is second after a 1-under, 71 after the first 18 holes.

D'Antonio made the turn at 1-under, but was 3-over on the back nine, which included back-to-back bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes.

The second round begins on Thursday.
