Williamsville South and Amherst girls to play for Section VI Class A title

The Section VI girls Class A final is set.

Williamsville South and Amherst will renew their rivalry after both won their semifinal games Sunday evening. The games were played at Buffalo State.

In the Class A1 final, top seed Williamsville South beat 6th seed Hamburg, 72-40. The Billies were led by Hannah Dolan with 22 points. Lauren Lassiter and Amari DeBerry each added 18 points.

In the Class A2 final, Amherst beat 3rd seed Iroquois 64-44. The Tigers were led by Ella Wanzer with 26 while Leah Shutts added 12.

The Class A final will be held this Wednesday, March 7th at Buffalo State.

The winner will move on to the Far West Regional this weekend in Rochester.
