AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — The first goal of Thursday night's game between the Williamsville North Spartans and the Lancaster Legends was scored with 11:15 to go in the first period. It also brought dozens of teddy bears raining down onto the ice.

The two schools raised over $2,000 for Crisis Services with the annual Teddy Bear Toss. This year's fundraiser was the fourth of its kind for Williamsville North; Lancaster participated as well for its second season.

"It represents a unity and a community," Crisis Services CEO Jessica Pirro said. "Especially for youth and teenagers today, I think that sense of community is something that we need to continue to help build."

Crisis Services has a 24-hour hotline at 716-834-3131.
