AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — Can the Williamsville girls hockey team make it back-to-back? They'll sure try to.

This weekend, the team will travel to Lake Placid for the NYSPHSAA state tournament. They're one of just four teams left in the state who will play for the championship trophy.

Williamsville won the program's first ever State Championship last season with an ovetime win over Skaneateles.

Williamsville was originally scheduled to play Section VII champion, Plattsburgh, Friday night but games were postponed to Saturday evening. The Championship will now be played Sunday evening.
