BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The NYSPHSAA announced on Wednesday that this weekend's boys' ice hockey championships will be closed to the public. No fans will be allowed into the LECOM HarborCenter due to concern surrounding the coronavirus. The games will still be played on Saturday and Sunday as scheduled.

"This is certainly not the type of championship atmosphere our association strives to provide to our student-athletes and their communities," NYSPHSAA executive director Robert Zayas said. "This decision is being made at the recommendation of the Erie County Department of Health out of an abundance of caution as we address the coronavirus.”

The games will still be streamed as they have been for the entirety of the playoffs and tickets will be refunded. WIlliamsville North is the only representative of Section 6. They play Victor on Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
