With two goals in three games, Maddie Moell's season is just getting started.

She's a senior for the Nichols hockey team who's love for the game stemmed from family.

"When I was younger my cousin played and he was always away playing," Moell said. "So then I started by playing on a puddle with him."

Years later, Moell is a senior wing and center who still loves spending time on the ice.

Why hockey over other sports?

She likes the different aspect of competition it brings.

"When you're competing with other players you're not only competing, you're bonding with them," she said.

Moell has played travel hockey since she was in elementary school and is currently on the Bisons roster.

Combined with her season at Nichols, Moell plays hockey year round and enjoys every minute.

"It's busy," said Moell. "It's still fun though because you're playing with your friends the whole time."

Moell's senior season has just begun. But while it will eventually come to an end, her career won't.

Moell is currently committed to play at Norwich University in Vermont. It's one of the top Division-III programs in the country.

"It was really stressful before because I was a senior and I wasn't committed yet," Moell said about the process of playing college hockey. "But finally it happened and now I can play and have fun and I'm not stressed out."
