A few years ago, Lois Garlow planned on attending Mount Saint Mary to play high school basketball.

"A couple of my friends from my middle school and elementary school, they come here so it was a good transition," Garlow said.

But sometimes, life has other plans.

Lois and her family moved to Utah and she later became an all-star on the court for her high school team.

Then, life changed once again, giving Lois a second chance at playing with Lady Thunder.

"It was actually really nice to come back and play with them," she said. "I've always wanted to play with them because they were the best people that I played against in middle school so it's cool to have them all on the same team."

Since the season began, Garlow has been the leading scorer and is consistently putting up big numbers in every game.

"She's the quarterback of the team," said head coach Fran Snyder. "She just loves it and takes it in and it was very easy to tell that she was a good player right from the get-go."

She's consistent, talented, and a leader.

It's hard to believe basketball isn't her number one sport.

"I'm actually committed to go play Division-I lacrosse at Coastal Carolina already so that kind of takes up my whole year," Garlow said. "Basketball kind of helps me keep fit."
