It’s been a season of firsts for the Health Sciences basketball team.

They won their first Section VI Championship and advanced to the Far West Regionals for the first time in program history, too.

Playing in the Class B semifinals, their chance at a trip to their first state championship game fell short with a 67-55 loss to Section X’s Canton on Friday.

Former Super 7 Athlete of the Week Davonte Gaines powered the Falcons with 24 points, while Tyron Lott added 14 for the Health.

They finish with a 21-5 overall record.
