Hamburg's quest for a perfect season came to an end on Saturday with a 12-10 loss to Webster-Thomas in the Class B Far West Regionals.
The Bulldogs finish the year with a 19-1 overall record.
Tied at six heading into the third, Webster-Thomas outscored Hamburg 3-1 in the quarter to take a 9-7 lead into the final stanza.
Senior Evan Hollfelder scored two of his six goals less than a minute apart to open the fourth, pulling the Dogs within 10-9.
However, the Titans put the game out of reach, re-extending their lead out to three in the final minutes of play.
"Everybody that's in our position, unblemished record, believes they have the opportunity to make the deepest run. We earned that, we deserve it and that's the way we felt," Head Coach Jeremiah Severino said. "Unfortunately it just comes to an end sooner than we had hoped for."
