BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Falconer wrestling team is coming back to Western New York as NYSPHSAA dual meet state champions.

Falconer, competing on the Division-II mat for the third straight year, topped Mount Sinai 40-39 in today's championship round. Brayden Newman came up with the final pin.

Western New York was well represented at the NYSPHSAA Dual Meet Championships with three additional Section VI teams taking part in Lancaster, Niagara Wheatfield, and Iroquois. All three teams were eliminated following pool play. The Falcons and Legends, both wrestling on the Division-I mat, each made their second program appearances. The Chiefs, wrestling on the Division-II mat, made the program's first appearance.
