Dunkirk accomplished a feat never before achieved in school history Saturday night under the lights at New Era Field.

The Marauders stood toe-to-toe for 48 minutes with Cheektowaga and knocked off the two-time defending Class B Champs for a 46-35 win to secure the program's first Section VI Championship in school history.

After combining for 60 points in the first half, the Marauders lead the Warriors 32-28 at half.

In the third quarter, the Warriors only ran three plays while Dunkirk held the ball for 11:09 of the quarter and still lead by five heading into the final quarter of action.

Michael Gray III pulled Cheektowaga within 40-35 late in the game, but Evon Hernandez provided the proverbial knockout blow, scoring on a 5-yard run to lift the Marauders to victory.
