Dunkirk falls in Class B semifinals

Dunkirk's historic season came to an end Saturday afternoon in Syracuse with a 41-8 loss to Chenango Forks in the Class B semifinals.

Against the Blue Devils, the Marauders (9-3) struggled to gain traction on offense, amassing just 77 total yards in the the first half and trailed Chenango Forks 21-0 at halftime.

Dontrell Clemons scored the only touchdown for Dunkirk, a 78-yard TD run in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Marauders finished with 183 yards of total offense.

Dunkirk won the program's first Section VI Championship, knocking off the two-time defending champs from Cheektowaga 46-35 in early November and was making its first appearance in the state's final four.
