Cardinal O'Hara's Anndea Zeigler will be staying local as she continues her basketball career.

The senior officially signed her letter of intent to attend Canisius College and play basketball for the Golden Griffins. With her family, coaches, teachers, and teammates all surrounding her, Zeigler signed on the dotted line Thursday.

"I didn't think I was going to be nervous, but I was nervous," Zeigler said, admitting that her hand was a little shaky when signing the letter. "I'm anxious to see what the four years I have ahead of me is going to be."

They'll be spent at Canisius, and she said she felt right at home with the Golden Griffins.

"Well, when I went to go visit, it felt like where I'm welcome. It felt like family," Zeigler remarked, and also said the University at Buffalo and Stony Brook were two of her other visits. But ultimately, Canisius is where she wanted to be.

"They just came to me with open arms, and I decided to go there."

Zeigler averaged 15.2 points and was named the co-player of the year in the Monsignor Martin Association last season.
