TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Cardinal O'Hara football team has been trying to teach its players to hit and tackle the right way and those lessons are paying off.

On Tuesday, the school learned some exciting news from former NFL player Peyton Manning.

In his video, Manning announced that O'Hara was one of ten schools in the U.S. to receive a $10,000 grant from Manning and Riddell. It's all because of the team's commitment to evolving the sport through smarter playing tactics. The money will allow the Hawks to purchase new helmets, shoulder pads, apparel and blocking equipment.
