TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Cardinal O'Hara boys basketball team says they've always had that "underdog mentality". This year is no different.

Despite a perfect record, the Hawks are maintaining that mentality with just a few more games left in the regular season.

"Every game we've won, there's stuff we talk about after the game or before practice that we can get better at," said head coach Tony Pulvirenti. "So that's the goal is to keep everybody hungry and keep the underdog mentality. We've always been the underdog no matter what our record is. We want to keep that mentality of being the underdog and that helps keep the guys motivated."

The Hawks last won a state championship back in the 90s and are eager to take that next step. The postseason begins in a few weeks.
