Canisius wins 3rd straight Manhattan Cup, Niagara Falls advance to title game

The Canisius boys basketball team held off a late rally from St. Francis, securing the program's third straight Class A Manhattan Cup Championships with a 57-53 win at Canisius College Wednesday night.

It's also the Crusaders seventh title in the last nine seasons.

St. Mary's of Lancaster defeated Nichols 64-61 to claim the Class B crown.

Section VI Playoffs

Niagara Falls will return to Buff State on Saturday to defend it's AA title after knocking off top seeded Jamestown 58-48.

The Wolverines will square off against Lancaster at 8:45 in the AA championship.  The Legends defeated Kenmore West 71-48.

Playing in his final high school game, senior James Rojas scored 22 points for the Red Raiders.

Niagara Falls was led in scoring by Tazaun Rose, who tallied 15.
