During the regular season teams in the Monsignor Martin beat each other up through league play.
The same has held true through the Manhattan Cup playoffs, with both Canisius and St. Francis grinding out narrow victories to secure spots in the Class A Championship on Wednesday.
Joe Jamison finished with 12 points but his two biggest secured a 65-61 win over top seeded Bishop Timon with a layup in the final seconds.
Leading 63-61, Jayce Johnson missed a layup and it looked like the Tigers were going to run down the court with an opportunity to tie the game.
However, the Crusaders forced a turnover and Jamison was able to put the nail in the coffin with his final bucket of the game.
Colby Moultire led Canisius with 16 points.
On the opposite side of the bracket, overtime was not required for a third consecutive game between St. Francis and Park, as the Red Raiders got 20 points from Bo Sireika in a 66-64 win.
Noah Hutchins led the Pioneers with 22 points, while Joe Jones added 18 -- which included a monster slam on the baseline in the first half.
