Canisius High School has a new varsity lacrosse coach.

The Crusaders announced the hiring of Michael F. Albert, a U.S. Lacrosse Member Coach, an NSCA Certified Coach and a USA Hockey Member Coach.

In a press release from the school, Canisius Director of Athletics Jim Mauro said, “Mike will bring a tremendous passion for the student-athlete’s experience, and the sport of lacrosse, to Canisius. He has a good background in the sport as a player in the high school and collegiate ranks. In addition, his knowledge of the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association and the Western New York lacrosse community, is a big plus. We are very excited for him to begin working with our students."

Albert is a Canisius College alum where he was a member of the 2012 MAAC Championship team that also competed in the NCAA Tournament. Before Canisius, Albert played at St. Francis High School.
