Fredonia native Jenn Suhr heading back to Olympics

Fredonia native Jenn Suhr will defend her Olypmic Gold medal and represent the United State in the pole vault for the third straight Summer Games.

Suhr, cleared 4.8 meters (15 feet 9 inches) to earn a bid to Rio. She'll be joined by Sandi Morris and Alexis Weeks as members of Team USA.

The 34-year-old passed on the first two opening heights, before clearing 4.65 and 4.7 meters.

In January, Suhr set an indoor record clearing 16 feet, 6 inches at The College of Brockport. 

She won Silver in Beijing in 2008.
