Jack Eichel scored his second goal of the preseason, another shorthanded tally, as the Buffalo Sabres beat the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday 4-0.

Eichel took a pass from Nicolas Deslauriers in the first period, pulled away from Leafs forward Connor Brown, and beat Jonathan Bernier for the lone goal of the opening frame.

Matt Moulson tipped Matt Donovan's shot to give the Sabres the 2-0 lead :59 seconds into the second period.  Evan Rodrigues scored less than two minutes later as Buffalo took a 3-0 lead into the dressing room.

The rookie Rodrigues added his second tally of the game in the third period.

Robin Lehner made 26 saves for the shutout.

The Sabres finish their preseason schedule with a trip to Minnesota on Thursday, followed by a home contest against Columbus on Friday.
