Early scoring rush not enough to lift Bandits past Saskatchewan

They scored first, but not last.

In a rematch of the NLL Championship, Saskatchewan rolled into KeyBank Center and handed Buffalo a 17-14 loss Saturday night.

The Bandits opened the scoring a minute into the game with a goal from Dhane Smith.  Ryan Benesch added a tally less than a minute later to give the home squad the early 2-0 lead.

However, the Rush answered with four straight goals, which came in the next two minutes that followed.

Trailing 14-12 in the 4th, Buffalo pulled to within one on a mesmerizing goal from Nick Weiss, who dove over the back of the goalie to tuck home a goal underneath the crossbar, but that would be as close as they'd get.

Buffalo is now 5-8 on the season.
