BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Former UB player Cierra Dillard has found a new home in the WNBA.

Days after being released by the Minnesota Lynx, the team that drafted her with the 20th overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft, Dillard was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Dillard became the first player in UB history to be taken in the WNBA Draft. During her time with the Bulls, she averaged 23.5 points, 5.7 assists and 2.9 steals per game. She also was named the Mid-American Conference Tournament MVP.

The Sparks have another preseason game this Friday before the regular season begins.
