Despite a 22-win campaign, the UB Women's basketball team was left out of the WNIT.
"I am really proud of our WBB team. We worked hard, played the right way, layer our passion on the line nightly. Sadly didn't make the WNIT," Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack tweeted following the release of the 64-team bracket.
The 22 wins are the most for the program since joining the Mid-American Conference.
Northern Illinois (21-11,12-6), Central Michigan (23-8, 15-3), Ohio (22-9, 12-6), Kent State (19-12, 13-5) and Ball State (21-10,14-4) will participate in the tourney.
Buffalo went 1-1 against the Chippewas, Bobcats, Golden Flashes and Cardinals during the season, but lost their only contest to NIU.
"This will make us stronger and more competitive moving forward," Jack tweeted. "I want to thank the UB Comm for their support. We wanted more for you!"
Buffalo knocked off Bowling Green in the first round of the MAC Tournament before upsetting then #2 seed Ball State in the conference quarterfinals. The Bulls lost to Toledo in the semis 72-65.
