UB tops Toledo 49-30, becomes bowl eligible for third straight season

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — The UB football team is bowl eligible for the third straight season. The Bulls topped Toledo 49-30 on Wednesday evening, earning their 6th win of the season. The Bulls improve to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in Mid-American Conference play.

When it came to UB scoring, Jaret Patterson had himself a night. The sophomore running back scored five touchdowns, tying a MAC record. He's also the first MAC player since 2017 to score five touchdowns in a game. Patterson finished with 32 carries for 192 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He added three catches for 35 yards and another score in the air. Patterson wasn't the only 100-yard rusher for the Bulls on Wednesday night as Kevin Marks finished with 118 yards and a score.

QB Kyle Vantrease finished the day going 13-of-20 for 172 yards with two total touchdowns. His top target was Antonio Nunn who led the receiving corps with five catches for 89 yards.

The Buffalo defense had a solid night recording an interception, and four sacks.

The Bulls will wrap up the regular season on Friday, November 29th when they host Bowling Green. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
