BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A game that started in their favor, ended in heartbreak. The UB football team fell to Kent State 30-27 on Thursday night, dropping them to 5-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Things started off great for the Bulls, leading 27-6 in the fourth quarter. But the Golden Flashes quickly made it a game, scoring 21 points in just over five minutes of game clock to tie things up. They hit a game-winning field goal as time expired to seal the win.

Despite the loss, running back Jaret Patterson had a big night on the ground. The sophomore finished with 30 carries for 141 yards. In the process he surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on the seasons, becoming just the second player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. Kevin Marks wasn't far behind on today's stat sheet, rushing for 53 yards and a score.

The Bulls return home on November 20th to play Toledo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
