The University at Buffalo and Syracuse will play a non-conference basketball game at the Carrier Dome, a source confirmed to 7 Eyewitness Sports Reporter Nick Filipowski.

The game will played in December.

The last time the schools played was during the 2001 season, with the Orange defeating the Bulls 83-62.

After back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2015 and 2016, the Bulls missed out of the postseason after falling in the Mid-American Conference semifinals.

Syracuse advanced to the NIT this past season, and lost in the second round to Ole Miss.  They've made the NCAA Tournament 38 times, including a Final Four run in 2016.
